Overview

About this course

Not everyone is ready to start straight at Level 1 — and that is exactly what Entry Level Functional Skills is for. This qualification builds genuine, ground-up confidence in reading, writing and basic number skills, using patient, adult-focused teaching that never feels like being back at school. Entry Level Functional Skills in English and Maths (Level 1 of Entry, sometimes referred to as Entry 3) is the recognised first step for adult learners who want to strengthen their core literacy and numeracy before moving onto Level 1 and then Level 2 (GCSE-equivalent). Many of our learners join here specifically because they want a supportive, unhurried route back into learning.
